GoodReader 4 for iPad

GoodReader has been one of the most powerful and popular PDF / document handling apps for iOS for many years now. Today it’s got a brand new universal version for iPad and iPhone – GoodReader 4.

If you’ve used GoodReader you already know that it’s an excellent PDF reader app that offers a wealth of annotation capabilities and a comprehensive range of storage options – from FTP to Dropbox, Google Drive and numerous others.

GoodReader 4 brings an impressive set of new features to add to this already powerful app. These include:

  • Insert blank pages for notes and drawings, solving the problem of not having enough space to annotate or draw images on a document
  • Rearrange pages in a document
  • Rotate individual pages – or even all of them
  • Delete any pages from a document
  • Extract individual pages as separate files, and split PDF files into halves – enabling a sub-set of pages to be shared as its own file
  • Email individual pages rather than the entire document
  • Append pages from other PDF files
  • PDF Page Slider now shows page previews
  • icon view for file browser, with larger previews
  • collapsible tool area on the main screen
  • “New PDF” button to create an empty file for your important notes and drawings

GoodReader 4 is a paid upgrade, though the developers have got it on sale initially at $2.99 to offer existing users a chance to upgrade at a discount (which is the best developers can do within Apple’s App Store rules). There’s also a Migration Assistant tool that helps users move all their files and settings from the old version of GoodReader.

Here’s an App Store link for GoodReader 4.
